Answer:

  1. From the Apple menu, select System Preferences....
  2. Click the Network icon.
  3. From the Location: drop-down list, select Automatic.
  4. Select and view your Ethernet connection:
    • In Mac OS X v10.4:
      1. From the Show: drop-down list, select Built-In Ethernet.
      2. Select the TCP/IP tab.
    • In Mac OS X v10.5, in the left pane, select Ethernet.
  5. Configure TCP/IP to use DHCP:
    • In Mac OS X v10.4:
      1. From the Configure IPv4: drop-down list, select Using DHCP.
      2. Click the Apply Now button.
    • In Mac OS X v10.5:
      1. From the Configure: drop-down list, select Using DHCP.
      2. Click the Apply button.
  6. Restart your computer.
