- Click the Network icon.
- From the Location: drop-down list, select Automatic.
- Select and view your Ethernet connection:

- From the Show: drop-down list, select Built-In Ethernet.
- Select the TCP/IP tab.
- In Mac OS X v10.5, in the left pane, select Ethernet.
- Configure TCP/IP to use DHCP:
- In Mac OS X v10.4:
- From the Configure IPv4: drop-down list, select Using DHCP.
- Click the Apply Now button.
- In Mac OS X v10.5:
- From the Configure: drop-down list, select Using DHCP.
- Click the Apply button.
- Restart your computer.
