To connect to VT-Wireless for the first time, select the CONNECTtoVT-Wireless network and use the XpressConnect prompts to automatically configure your device.

If you are unable to connect using XpressConnect or if you prefer to connect manually to the VT-Wireless wireless network:

  1. If you have not already done so, create a network password. For instructions, see Creating a Network Password.
  2. On your desktop, in the system tray, click the wireless icon. A list of wireless networks that are available will appear.
  3. Select VT-Wireless.
  4. If it is not already checked, place a check in the Connect automatically check box.
  5. Click the Connect button.
  6. In the User name text box, type your PID.
  7. In the Password text box, type your network password.
  8. Important: Type these credentials carefully and accurately. To prevent further issues, it is very important that you type the credentials correctly the first time.
  9. Click OK.
  10. If prompted that Windows can’t verify the server's identity, click the Connect button.
  11. Right-click VT-Wireless.
  12. Select View connection properties.
  13. Click the Advanced settings button.
  14. Place a check in the Specify authentication mode: check box.
  15. From the Specify authentication mode: drop-down list, select User authentication.
  16. Click the Save credentials button.
  17. In the User name text box, type your PID.
  18. In the Password text box, type your network password.
  19. Click OK.
  20. Click OK.
  21. Click OK.
  22. If at any point you forget to do some of the steps above, you cannot connect, or you lose connection before saving your credentials:
    1. Right-click VT-Wireless.
    2. Select Forget this network.
    3. Restart the computer.
    4. Follow these instructions from the beginning.
