Managing Spam in Desktop Email Client when Forwarding VT Google Apps Mail

Question:
After setting my VT Google Apps Mail account to forward to a different email account, how do I manage spam using a desktop email client?
Answer:

If email that you want to receive is incorrectly being filtered to the Spam folder, follow the instructions at Stopping Email from Going to Spam in VT Google Apps Mail to improve Google's filtering.

There are multiple methods to manage spam in your VT Google Apps Mail account. For other suggestions, see VT Google Apps Mail Mailbox Management.

To view the spam folder of your VT Google Apps Mail account in your desktop email client, configure your desktop client to check both your VT Google Apps Mail account and the account to which you are forwarding. For more information on configuring a desktop client to access VT Google Apps Mail, see Configuring a Client to Access VT Google Apps Mail.

By configuring your client to check both your VT Google Apps Mail account and the account to which you are forwarding, you can view email from your VT Google Apps Mail account by selecting the account to which you are forwarding, and you can also view spam by selecting the spam folder of the VT Google Apps Mail account.
