To convert a Word document to PDF:
- For 2003:
- Download and install a PDF writer application.
- Use the PDF writer application to convert the Word document to a PDF.
- For 2004/2008/2011:
- From the File drop-down list, select Print....
- In the lower-left corner, click the PDF button.
- From the drop-down list, select Save as PDF....
- In the Save As: text box, type the name you want for the file.
- Click the Save button.
- For 2007:
Note: If it is not already installed, install the PDF or XPS add-in. If you regularly install Microsoft Office updates, the add-in may already be installed. To install the add-in:
- Go to the 2007 Microsoft Office Add-In: Microsoft Save as PDF or XPS (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=4d951911-3e7e-4ae6-b059-a2e79ed87041&displaylang=en) Web page.
- Click the Download button.
- Save the SaveAsPDFandXPS.exe file to your desktop.
- On your desktop, double-click the SaveAsPDFandXPS.exe icon.
- If prompted:
- In XP, click the Run button.
- In Vista, click the Continue button.
- In 7/8, click the Yes button.
- Place a check in the Click here to accept the Microsoft Software License Terms check box.
- Click the Continue button.
- When the installation completes, click the OK button.
- Click the Office button.
- In the drop-down list, hover the mouse over Save As.
- In the right pane that appears, select PDF or XPS.
- In the File name: text box, type the name you want for the file.
- Click the Publish button.
- For 2010/2013:
- Select the File tab.
- In the left column, select Save As.
- In 2013:
- In the middle column, select Computer.
- In the right column, click the Browse button.
- In the File name: text box, type the name you want for the file.
- From the Save as type: drop-down list, select PDF.
- Click the Save button.
