When I try to download or install Symantec Endpoint Protection for Windows XP/Vista/7, I receive an error message. What should I do?

Answer:

When the Symantec Endpoint Protection installer doesn't download correctly, you will receive an error message such as:

  • [File Name] is not a valid Win32 application

    Note: [File Name] will be replaced with the name of the file you downloaded.

  • unable to read cab data

To fix this problem, delete the file you downloaded, and do one of the following:
