Note: For Virginia Tech students, current registration for Virginia Tech wireless services using COLA is required to access the VT-Wireless wireless network.

To connect an iOS device to the VT-Wireless wireless network:

1. If you have never installed a certificate on the device before, proceed to the next step. If you have a certificate that is expiring or has expired, delete your old certificate before installing the new one. For instructions, see Deleting an Expired Certificate From My iPhone.
2. Using your iOS device, create and download a personal network access certificate.  
   1. Go to the Login to NetCert via CAS Web page.
   2. In the VT PID: field, type your PID.
   3. In the Password: field, type your PID password.
   4. Click the Login button.
   5. In the Label for certificate: field, type a name for your certificate.
   6. Click the Generate Certificate button.
   7. To download the certificate, follow the instructions on the CNS page containing your personal network access certificate password.
      Important: Write down this password exactly as it is displayed. You will need it to install the certificate.

3. Tap the Install button.
4. Tap Install Now.
5. Enter your certificate password.
6. Tap Next.
7. Tap Done.
8. Open Settings.
9. Tap Wi-Fi.
10. Tap VT-Wireless.
11. Leave Username and Password blank.
12. Tap Mode.
13. Select EAP-TLS.
14. Tap Enter Password to go back to the password screen.
15. Tap Identity.  This may be your PID or it may be blank.
16. Tap on the most recent identity, usually found at the bottom of the list.
17. Tap Enter Password to go back to the password screen.
18. Tap Join.
    Note: If an Unable to join the network "VT-Wireless" message appears, tap Dismiss and tap Join again.

19. Under VT-Wireless.cns.vt.edu Thawte Premium Server CA, tap Accept.
