- Click the Start button.
- Select All Programs.
- Select Accessories.
- Select System Tools.
- Select Task Scheduler.
- In Windows Vista, click the Continue button.
- In the right pane, under Actions, select Create Basic Task....
- In the Name: text box, type a name for the task.
- Click Next.
- Select the radio button corresponding to how often you want the task to run.
- Click Next.
- Set the start date and time when you want the program to run.
- Click Next.
- Select the radio button corresponding to the action you want Task Scheduler to perform.
- Click Next.
- Depending on the action you selected:
- If you selected Start a program:
- Click the Browse... button.
- Locate and select the program to be used.
- Click the Open button.
- Click Next.
- Click Finish.
- If you selected Send an e-mail:
- In the From: text box, type the name of the sender.
- In the To: text box, type the name of the recipient.
- In the Subject: text box, type a subject for the email message.
- In the Text: text box, type the message.
- If you want to add an attachment:
- Click the Browse... button.
- Locate and select the file to attach.
- Click the Open button.
- In the SMTP server: text box, type your SMTP server address.
- Click Next.
- Click Finish.
- If you selected Display a message:
- In the Title: text box, type a title for the message.
- In the Message: text box, type the message.
- Click Next.
- Click Finish.
- Close the Task Scheduler window.
