- Click the Start button.
- Right-click Computer.
- From the drop-down list, select Properties.
- Under Tasks, click the Device Manager link.
- If prompted, click Continue.
- Double-click the Network Adapters icon.
- Under the Network Adapters list, right-click your network adapter.
- From the drop-down list, select Properties.
- Select the Power Management tab.
- Clear the Allow the Computer to Turn Off This Device to Save Power check box.
- Click OK.
- Restart your computer.
Note: If your network card is still not responding:
- Shut down your computer.
- Unplug the power adapter from your laptop.
- Remove your computer's battery.
- Wait 30 seconds.
- Reinsert the battery into the laptop.
- Reconnect your laptop's power adapter.
- Turn on your laptop. If you still cannot connect to the network, contact your laptop's vendor or manufacturer.
