- Navigate to Windows Update.
- In Vista/7:
- Click the Start button.
- Select All Programs.
- Select Windows Update.
- In 8:
- On the Start screen, type: Windows Update
- In the right pane, click the Settings icon.
- Click the Install optional updates tile.
- In the left pane, click the Check for updates link.
- Click the appropriate link to select update(s).
- If there is only one update, click the 1 important update is available link.
- If there is more than one updates, click the __ important updates are available link.
- Place a check in the check box(es) corresponding to the update(s) you want to install.
- Click OK.
- Click the Install updates button.
Note: Depending on the updates you chose to install, you may be prompted by different windows. Follow the prompts to continue with the installation.
- If you are prompted to restart the computer, click the Restart now button.
