- How do I configure Eudora 7.1 for Windows to connect to the Virginia Tech POP Mail server?
- Answer:
- Start Eudora.
- From the Tools menu, select Options.
- From the Category list on the left, click Getting Started.
- In the Real Name text box, type your name as you want it to appear on messages you send.
- In the E-mail Address text box, type: [Your PID]@vt.edu
Note: Replace [Your PID] with your Virginia Tech PID.
- In the Mail Server text box, type: pop.vt.edu
- In the User Name text box, type your PID.
- In the SMTP Server text box, type auth.smtp.vt.edu
- Verify that the Allow Authentication check box is selected.
- Under the Category list, select Checking Mail.
- In the marked Secure Sockets When Receiving drop-down box, select Required, Alternate Port.
- Under the Category list, select Sending Mail.
- In the marked Secure Sockets When Sending drop-down box, select Required, Alternate Port.
- From the Category list, select Advanced Network.
- In the Network Buffer Size Of box, type: 40960
- Click OK.
