How do I configure Entourage 2004 v11 to connect to the Virginia Tech Exchange server?
Answer:
Important: To complete these instructions, you must upgrade to 11.2.3.To download:
  • Open Entourage.
  • From the Help menu, select Check for Updates.

When updates have finished downloading, you can now configure Entourage to connect to the Exchange server:

  1. From the Tools menu, select Accounts.
  2. Click the New button.
  3. Click the Configure Account Manually button.
  4. In the window that opens, select Exchange.
  5. Click OK.
  6. In the Name text box, type your name.
  7. Select Edit Account.
  8. In the E-mail Address text box, type: [Your Hokies ID]@exchange.vt.edu

    Note: Replace [Your Hokies ID] with your Hokies ID.

  9. In the Account ID text box, type your Hokies ID.
  10. In the Domain text box, type: Hokies
  11. In the Exchange Server text box, type: weboutlook.vt.edu
  12. Place a check in the DAV Service Requires Secure Connection (SSL) check box.
  13. Select the Advanced tab.
  14. In the Public Folders Server text box, type: weboutlook.vt.edu/public/
  15. Place a check in the DAV Service Requires Secure Connection (SSL) check box.
  16. In the LDAP Server text box, type: gc.w2k.vt.edu
  17. Place a check in the Override Default LDAP Port check box.
  18. In the Override Default LDAP Port text box, type: 3268
  19. In the Maximum Number of Results to Return text box, type: 200
  20. A Search Base box will appear.
  21. Click OK.
  22. To make your Exchange account your default account:
    1. Select your Exchange account.
    2. Click the Make Default button.
  23. Close the Accounts Window.
