- In Windows Vista/7:
- Select All Programs.
- Select Accessories.
- Select Run.
- In the Open: text box, type: regedit
- Click OK.
- Confirm that you want to run the Registry Editor utility.
- In Vista, click the Continue button.
- In 7, click the Yes button.
- From the File drop-down list, select Export...
- Navigate to the location where you want to store your backup.
- In the File name: text box, type: BACKUP
- Click the Save button.
- Close the Registry Editor window.
