Network Cable Unplugged Message in Windows XP

Question:
My network connection keeps disconnecting in Windows XP, and I receive a message that my network cable is unplugged. My cable is connected, and my network settings are correct. What should I do?

To correct a network cable unplugged message:
  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Select Run....
  3. In the Open: text box, type: cmd
  4. Press the Enter key.
  5. Type: IPv6 uninstall
  6. Press the Enter key.
  7. Close all windows.
  8. Restart your computer.
