To verify whether or not your computer belongs to the Hokies domain:
- Click the Start button.
- Right-click Computer:
- In Windows XP, right-click My Computer.
- In Windows Vista, right-click Computer.
- From the drop-down list, select Properties.
Note: In Windows XP, select the Computer Name tab.
- To the right of Domain:, if the domain listed contains w2k.vt.edu in the name, your computer belongs to a domain within Hokies.
Example: If your computer belongs to the AIS domain, your domain will be ais.w2k.vt.edu.
If your computer belongs to a domain within Hokies, use the Active Directory DNS servers. For more information, refer to Domain Name Server (DNS) Addresses (http://www.computing.vt.edu/internet_and_web/internet_access/dns.html)
