- Start Outlook Express.
- From the Tools menu, select Accounts.
- Select the Directory Service tab.
- Select directory.vt.edu.
If directory.vt.edu is not listed:
- Click the Add button, and then select Directory Service.
- In the Internet Directory (LDAP) Server text box, type: directory.vt.edu
- Clear the My LDAP Server Requires Me To Log On check box.
- Click Next.
- Read the next window and select Yes or No.
- Click Next.
- Click Finish.
- Select directory.vt.edu.
- Click the Properties button.
- In the Server Name text box, type: directory.vt.edu
- Clear the This Server Requires Me To Log On check box.
- Select the Advanced tab.
- Clear the This Server Requires a Secure Connection (SSL) check box.
- Slide the Search Timeout slider to 1 minute.
- In the Search Base text box, type: ou=people,dc=vt,dc=edu
- Click OK.
- Click the Close button.
- Restart Outlook Express.
