To configure Outlook 2003 to connect to the Exchange server:
- Click the Start button.
- Select Control Panel.
- Click the User Accounts link.
- Click the Mail link.
- Click the E-mail Accounts... button.
Note: If this button does not appear, create a Mail profile and proceed to the next step:
- Click the Add... button.
- In the Profile Name: text box, type: Outlook
- Click OK.
- Select the Add a New E-mail Account option.
- Click Next.
- Select the Microsoft Exchange Server option.
- Click Next.
- In the Microsoft Exchange Server: text box, type: exchange.vt.edu
- Clear the Use Cached Exchange Mode check box.
- In the User Name text box, type your Hokies ID.
- Click Next.
- If prompted, click Yes.
- Click Finish.
- Click Close.
- Open Outlook.
- Log on to your account.
- If you are running Windows with no previous Outlook installations:
- In the User Name: text box, type: Hokies\[Your Hokies ID]
Note: Replace [Your Hokies ID] with your Hokies ID.
- In the Password: text box, type your Hokies password.
- If you have had previous Outlook installations:
- In the User Name: text box, type your Hokies ID.
- In the Password: text box, type your Hokies password.
- In the Domain: text box, type: Hokies
- Click OK.
Important: When checking your Exchange e-mail account, you must use your Hokies ID and password.
