Answer:

  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Select Control Panel.
  3. Open your computer's Security Center.
    • In XP, click the Security Center link.
    • In Vista, click the Security link.
    • In 7, click the System and Security link.
  4. Click the Windows Firewall link.
  5. View your Windows Firewall settings.
    • In XP, select the General tab.
    • In Vista:
      1. In the left pane, click the Turn Windows Firewall on or off link.
      2. Click the Continue button.
      3. Select the General tab.
    • In 7, in the left column, click the Turn Windows Firewall on or off link.
  6. Enable or disable your firewall.
    • In XP/Vista:
      • To turn the Windows Firewall on, select the On (recommended) option.
      • To turn the Windows Firewall off, select the Off (not recommended) option.
    • In 7:
      • To turn the Windows Firewall on, select the Turn on Windows Firewall option.
      • To turn the Windows Firewall off, select the Turn off Windows Firewall (not recommended) option.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Close all open windows.
