Configuring Eudora 6.2 for Mac OS 10.2/10.4 to Connect to the VT Mail Server

- How do I configure Eudora 6.2 for Mac OS 10.2/10.4 to connect to the VT Mail server?

- Start Eudora.
- From the Special menu, select Settings.
- From the list on the left, select the Getting Started icon.
- In the User Name text box, type your PID.
- In the Mail Server text box, type: pop.vt.edu
- In the Real Name text box, type your name as you want it to appear in messages you send.
- In the SMTP Server text box, type: auth.smtp.vt.edu
- In the Return Address text box, type: [Your PID]@vt.edu
Note: Replace [Your PID] with your PID.
- From the list on the left, select the Sending Mail icon.
- Check the Allow Authorization check box.
- From the list on the left, select the SSL icon.
- From the Personality drop-down list, select the personality you want to configure.If you have not created any new personalities in Eudora, select Dominant.
- From the SSL for POP drop-down list, select Required (Alternate Port).
- From the SSL for SMTP drop-down list, select Required (Alternate Port).
- From the list on the left, select the Miscellaneous icon.
- Place a check in the Use System Keychain to Store Passwords check box.
- Click OK.
- If asked "You connected to a server which returned this SSL certificate that is not in your keychain. Would you like to add it to your keychain?", click OK.
- Restart Eudora.
