Configuring Evolution to Connect to the VT Mail Server

Question:
How do I configure Evolution to connect to the VT Mail server?
Answer:
  1. Start Evolution.
  2. From the Edit menu, select Preferences.
  3. Click the Mail Accounts icon.
  4. Click the Add button.
  5. Click the Forward button.
  6. In the Full Name text box, type your name.
  7. In the E-mail Address text box, type: [Your PID]@vt.edu

    Note: Replace [Your PID] with your PID.

  8. Click the Forward button.
  9. From the Server Type drop-down list, select POP.
  10. In the Server text box, type: pop.vt.edu
  11. In the Username text box, type your PID.
  12. From the Use Secure Connection (SSL) drop-down list, select Always.
  13. Click the Forward button.
  14. If you want to leave your messages on the server, place a check in the Leave Messages on Server check box.
  15. Click the Forward button.
  16. From the Server Type drop-down list, select SMTP.
  17. In the Host text box, type: auth.smtp.vt.edu
  18. Set Use Secure Connection to SSL encryption.
  19. In the Username box, type your PID.
  20. Click the Forward button.
  21. In the Name text box, type: VT Pop Mail
  22. Click the Forward button.
  23. Click Apply.
