How do I add an Exchange server profile in Outlook 2007?

Answer:

Important: Before you can add an Exchange server profile in Outlook 2007, you must have an Exchange account. For more information, refer to the Exchange page (https://computing.vt.edu/content/exchange-0).

To add an Exchange profile:
  1. Ensure that Outlook is closed.
  2. Click the Start button.
  3. Select Control Panel.
  4. Go to User Accounts.
    • In XP/Vista, click the User Accounts link.
    • In 7, click the User Accounts and Family Safety link.
  5. Click the Mail link
  6. Click the Email Accounts... button.
  7. Click the New... button.
  8. Select the Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP radio button.

    Note: If you have no previous Outlook accounts, skip to step 10.

  9. Click Next.
  10. In the Your Name: text box, type your name as you want it to appear on messages you send.
  11. In the Email Address: text box, type: [Your Hokies ID]@exchange.vt.edu
  12. In the Password: text box, type your Hokies password.
  13. In the Retype Password: text box, retype your Hokies password.
  14. Click Next.
  15. Click Finish.
  16. Click OK.
  17. Click the Close button.
  18. Click the Close button.
  19. Start Outlook.
