How do I change my desktop background settings in Windows XP?

Answer:

  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Select Control Panel.
  3. Select Appearance and Themes.
  4. Click the Display link.
  5. Select the Desktop tab.
  6. Change your background settings.
    • To remove your background image, from the Background: list, select (None).
    • To set your background to an image file or HTML document:
      • To select an existing background, from the Background list, select the image or document you want to use.
      • To select a file from another folder or storage device:
        1. Click the Browse... button.
        2. Locate the file you want to use.
        3. Click the Open button.
    • To change the positioning of your background image, from the Position: drop-down list, select how you want to position your image.
    • To set the background color of your desktop, from the Color: drop-down list, select a background color.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Close the Appearance and Themes window.
