- Click the Start button.
- Select Control Panel.
- In XP, select Performance and Maintenance.
- In Vista, select System and Maintenance.
- In 7, select Systems and Security.
- Select Administrative Tools.
- Double-click the Services icon.
Note: In Vista, click the Continue button.
- In the right pane, from the list, double-click Remote Access Connection Manager.
- Select the General tab.
- From the Startup type: drop-down list, select Manual.
- If the service status is not started, click the Start button.
- Click OK.
- Close the Services window.
- Close the Administrative Tools window.
