How do I restore a lost dial-up connection in Windows XP/Vista/7?

Answer:

  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Select Control Panel.
    • In XP, select Performance and Maintenance.
    • In Vista, select System and Maintenance.
    • In 7, select Systems and Security.
  3. Select Administrative Tools.
  4. Double-click the Services icon.

    Note: In Vista, click the Continue button.

  5. In the right pane, from the list, double-click Remote Access Connection Manager.
  6. Select the General tab.
  7. From the Startup type: drop-down list, select Manual.
  8. If the service status is not started, click the Start button.
  9. Click OK.
  10. Close the Services window.
  11. Close the Administrative Tools window.
