To configure Eudora to connect to the Virginia Tech Exchange server:
- Start Eudora.
- From the Tools menu, select Options....
- Under Category:, click the Getting Started icon.
- In the Real Name: text box, type your name as you want it to appear in messages you send.
- In the Email Address: text box, type: [Your Hokies ID]@exchange.vt.edu
Note: Replace [Your Hokies ID] with your Hokies ID.
- In the Mail Server (Incoming): text box, type: exsecure.vt.edu
- In the User Name: text box, type your Hokies ID.
- In the SMTP Server (Outgoing): text box, type: auth.smtp.vt.edu
- Under Category:, click the Checking Mail icon.
- From the Secure Sockets When Receiving drop-down list, select Required, Alternate Port.
- Under Category:, click the Incoming Mail icon.
- To the right of Server Configuration:, select the IMAP option.
- Under Category:, click the Sending Mail icon.
- From the Secure Sockets When Sending drop-down list, select Required, Alternate Port.
- Click OK.
- From the File menu, select Check Mail.
- In the Password: text box, type your Hokies password.
- Click OK.
