Configuring WINS Settings in Windows

How do I configure my WINS settings in Windows?
Answer:
Important: If you are running a third-party firewall, you must add the WINS server addresses to your trusted zone list.
To configure your WINS settings:
  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Type: control panel
  3. As you type, results will appear and change. Select Control Panel.
  4. Under Network and Internet, click the View network status and tasks link.
  5. In the left pane, click the Change adapter settings link.
  6. Right-click the icon of your local area connection.
  7. Select Properties.
  8. Double-click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).
  9. Click the Advanced... button.
  10. Select the WINS tab.
  11. Click the Add... button.
  12. In the WINS server: text box, type: 198.82.162.243
  13. Click the Add button.
  14. Click the Add... button.
  15. In the WINS server: text box, type: 198.82.162.242
  16. Click the Add button.
  17. Click OK.
  18. Click OK.
  19. Click OK.
  20. Restart your computer.
