Determining the Location of My Storage Space on the Virginia Tech Network-Attached Storage (NAS)
Time to Complete (in minutes): 5
Question:
How do I determine the location of my storage space (mystore or mystore2) on the Virginia Tech Network-Attached Storage (NAS)?
Answer:

Note: If you have not yet created your space on the NAS, refer to Creating Your Space on the Virginia Tech Network-Attached Storage (NAS) in Windows XP/Vista/7 and Mac OS X (http://answers.vt.edu/kb/entry/3724/).

To determine whether your NAS space is on mystore or mystore2:
  1. Go to the ADadmin Web site (http://adadmin.w2k.vt.edu).
  2. In the HOKIES\: text box, type your Hokies ID.
  3. In the Password: text box, type your Hokies password.
  4. Click the Log In button.
  5. To expand the menu, in the left pane, click the Storage link.
  6. Click the View / Edit Storage link.

Note: If the View / Edit Storage submenu is grayed out, you have not created a space on the NAS. For instructions, see Creating Your Space on the Virginia Tech Network-Attached Storage (NAS) in Windows XP/Vista/7 and Mac OS X (http://answers.vt.edu/kb/entry/3724/).

  7. Under NAS Space, to the right of Location: will be the location of your NAS space.
    • If your NAS space is located on mystore, you will see \\storage.vt.edu\mystore\.
    • If you NAS space is located on mystore2, you will see \\storage.vt.edu\mystore2\.
