Caution: Close any open applications before proceeding with this installation. Failure to do so could cause problems with this installation and other programs on your computer.
Important: You can upgrade from Norton AntiVirus 7.6, 8.0, 8.1, 9.0, and 10.0 Corporate Edition without having to uninstall the program. However, if you have any other version of antivirus software installed, including Norton AntiVirus 2001/2002/2003/2004, you will need to uninstall it before continuing.
You must be log on to Windows with an account with computer administrator privileges.

To install Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0.2:

Go to the Symantec AntiVirus Downloads page (http://antivirus.vt.edu/download/).

Important: This Symantec AntiVirus download is available for use at no charge for current Virginia Tech students, faculty, staff, and retirees only.
In the PID text box, type your Virginia Tech PID.
In the Password text box, type your Virginia Tech PID password.
Click Logon.
In the Windows section, click the new Download link.
Save the installer to your desktop.

Note: If you have a program such as Outlook open, you will receive an error message. Close each program, and click Retry.
Double-click the vtsav1002.exe file on your desktop. It may take several minutes for the installation to complete.
Click Finish.
In the Symantec Packager window, click Reboot Now.
After restarting, a window will appear while Windows configures Symantec AntiVirus. The installation may take a few minutes to complete.

Notes:

You must restart your computer before the updated virus program will take effect.
