Important: Spyware detection and removal programs, including Ad-Aware, do not always catch every spyware program when used alone. For better security, use more than one spyware detection program on your computer. For example, use both Spybot Search & Destroy and Ad-Aware.

To scan your computer for spyware:

Start Ad-Aware.

Under Web Update click the Update button.

Click the Connect button.

In response to the "Would You Like To Update the Definitions File Now," question window, click Yes.

Click OK.

Click Finish.

In the Ad-Aware 2007 window, click the Scan button.

Choose whether you want a Smart, Full, or Custom scan.

A Smart scan scans all of your computer's critical processes.

A Full scan scans your entire system.

A Custom scan scans only the elements that you have selected to be scanned.

Click Scan.

After the scan has finished, click Next.

Place a check in the check box next to each object found.

Click the Quarantine button.

In the Filename text box, type a name for the quarantined file.

Click OK.

In the Ad-Aware 2007 window, click OK.

Click Next.

Click OK.

Click the Open Quarantine List link.

Select the quarantined file.

Click the Delete button.

Click OK.
